Shurman Project.
A project in West Hobart Tasmania. Included design, natural sand stone paving and stepping stones, sandstone edging, solid sandstone seats, fire pit area, limestone wall cladding turf, custom steel edging, mulching and plantings.
Design Brief
The Design brief for this project was to revamp and update the area while remaining with the natural style the owners wanted. The site started out as a tired grass area with overgrown plants taking over the site. We removed and tidied up the plantings, removed old weedy grass, installed sand stone pavers, stepping stones and edging, custom made steel garden edging solid sand stone seats and fire pit area, a limestone cladded wall incorporating solid sandstone steps and last but not least fresh turf and low maintenance plantings.
A challenging site which was clay based and quite slippery durning the construction as we had well above average rainfall for the season!
In staying with the brief, the landscape was designed for alfresco entertaining, gathering around the fire pit and family living.
Using natural materials and colours through out has enhanced the natural feeling and complemented the sandstone footings of the existing residence. Certainly returning the life to the garden and alfresco entertaining area. Accomplishing what the home owners were looking for from design to completion and beyond.
Some changes were made to the initial design after discussion with the home owners.
